In Spring 2011 Gatis Druvaskalns (Celmlauzis, Starpliktuve) returned to Latvia from a two-year stay in the Netherlands, and was visiting his long time friend Stropu Jurka (V.S.K.B., Strops). He brought a present - a circuit-bent Casio MT-40, that he had bought at a flea market. They quickly got into jamming, running that Casio through a Korg Monotron for rhythms and bass sequences, adding some leads and bass parts with an Altair Estradin-230 and a modded Yamaha toy synth with a DIY noise generator for extra sounds and textures. Additional ideas and lyrical themes were written down and almost immediately transferred onto these recordings.
In whole, 11 tracks were written and recorded in the brief period of 18-23.04.2011. at Jurka's home studio in Baldones street, Pārdaugava.
That’s how Konstrukcija was born, later to be joint by Erlends Paičs, the keyboardist of V.S.K.B. and releasing finished and smoother versions of these songs in their self-titled debut album on French label Brouillard Definitif in 2014.
